Fed: Bashir's Bali comments "preposterous", says Downer

ALEXANDER DOWNER has rejected as preposterous .. fresh claims about the 2002 Bali bombings
by a convicted Indonesian cleric.

ABU BAKAR BASHIR says the most deadly device used in the attacks was a CIA micro-nuclear bomb.

And he says he's free to go where he wants .. since being released from jail after
serving nearly two years for having prior knowledge of the 2002 attacks.

Mr DOWNER's told ABC radio some of BASHIR's claims are unbelievable .. and he'd be
very surprised if Indonesian authorities haven't restricted the cleric's travel.
